Dr. Mary Alice Silverman has devoted her private practice primarily to the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents, with an emphasis on collaboration with parents and schools. Her strong focus on the integration of family and educational settings makes her approach to intervention distinctive, sensible, and productive. Her particular areas of interest include parent consultation, the assessment and treatment of younger children, families coping with major stressors (such as divorce, illness, or death), and anxiety disorders. Her therapy approach is integrative and pragmatic, incorporating play-based, cognitive-behavioral, supportive, and dynamic approaches.
